Garissa Water and Sewerage Company Limited (GAWASCO) is a water utility company fully owned by the County Government of Garissa and mandated to provide water and sanitation services in Garissa County. The Company invites applications from qualified and self-driven individuals for the position of Senior Accountant.

Reporting Line

Reporting to the Head of Finance, the successful candidate will be responsible for professional management of company resources, preparation of financial reports, budgets, and revenue management.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise work activities of the Financial Accountant.

Operational Responsibilities

1. Coordinate preparation of bank reconciliations.
2. Maintain and reconcile suppliers’ accounts.
3. Maintain vote book and ensure budget compliance.
4. Monitor bank balances and advise the Finance Manager.
5. Prepare monthly sectional reports.
6. Review customer billing adjustments.
7. Verify postings in the Dynamics system.
8. Undertake continuous professional development.
9. Prepare timely management reports.
10. Perform any other assigned duties.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
• CPA II (Intermediate) is an added advantage.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience, 3 at managerial level.
